Method

  1. 1

Take 15 minutes to pat the grass-fed beef brisket dry with paper towels, mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, fine sea salt, and ground black pepper in a small bowl, and rub the blend thoroughly over all sides of the beef.

  2. 2

Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the seasoned brisket, and sear for 8 minutes, turning once to brown both sides evenly.

  3. 3

Whisk together the organic tomato paste, organic apple cider vinegar, raw honey, dijon mustard, and beef broth in a medium bowl until a smooth barbecue sauce forms.

  4. 4

Transfer the browned brisket into the slow cooker insert and pour the barbecue sauce evenly over the top.

  5. 5

Cover with the lid and cook on low heat for 7 hours until the brisket is completely fork-tender.

  6. 6

Transfer the brisket to a cutting board and let it rest for 7 minutes before slicing against the grain and serving warm with the rich cooking juices spooned over top.

Tip

Always slice across the grain for the most tender texture. Leftover brisket stores well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
